After seeing the irreverent trailer of ‘Renfield’ where Nicolas Cage will give life to a fearsome Count Dracula, the bad news has arrived. And is that, the actor known for his role in ‘Ghost Rider’, will not return for the sequel to ‘Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse’, in which more than 200 new arachnid characters will be introduced and who will explore the multiverse of arachnids like never before.

In an interview for Screen Rant, Nicolas Cage has confirmed that he will not return ‘Spiderman: Through the Spider-Verse’, due to some problems with the production company: “You should ask Sony. I don’t know what’s going on. Nobody told me about it. ask him. I do not know. Not really. I wish they did. I also love Spider-Man Noir. I think he’s a great character. Spider-Man is the coolest superhero.”

While promoting ‘The Old Way’, Nicolas Cage regrets not returning as Spider-Man NoirHowever, he has said he loves the character and Spider-Man and hopes to play him again in the future. The sequel to ‘Into the Spider-Verse’ will feature more than 240 arachnids on screen but unfortunately Spidey Noir will not be one of them.

Perhaps Nicolas Cage returns to ‘Spiderman: Beyond the Spider-Verse’, the third and final installment of Sony’s animated films, in which all known (and yet to be known) Spider-Mans meet for one time only to fight a greater evil. However, there is still nothing confirmed on the third chapter which will close with the adventure of Miles Morales.

Two Variants Of Spiderman Will Be Vital In ‘Across The Spider-Verse’

While Disney develops its universe with Marvel, Sony is still working on its own, based on the characters of Spiderman. According to the same Screen Rant, two variants of Spider-Man would be very important to the storyline of ‘Across The Spider-Verse’, and they would not concern Jessica Drew, or better known as Spider-Woman, or Spiderman 2099, which have already been seen in the trailer.

The first of them would be Spider-Man from the PlayStation 4 video game, who already knows Miles Morales in his universe, and who here could present himself as an older brother to the protagonist of the plot. And the second would be Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, who has already been talked about on several occasions, and who could be the key to solving the multiverse.

Sony has a film in the works that could be one of the best arachnid stories ever to hit the big screen. And with so much anticipation under its belt, there are still plenty of details to learn about what’s in store for Miles Morales’ adventure. ‘Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse’ will be released on June 2, 2023.
