Disney, IMAX and DTS recently announced that they will bring DTS’ signature IMAX sound to select movies on the Disney+ streaming service.

Disney+ subscribers using select devices will now have access to both IMAX’s exclusive extended aspect ratio, which launched in November 2021, as well as IMAX’s signature sound, which is expected to launch this year.

This new feature will work on select IMAX Enhanced certified TVs from manufacturers such as Sony and Hisense. Owners of certified AV receivers from manufacturers such as Denon, Marantz and JBL can also use the new feature at launch.

The new feature will work on all IMAX Enhanced titles currently on Disney+, with more titles to be announced in the future.
