Sam Raimi had been away from his horror franchise since the 2013 installment but is now back as a producer on ‘Evil Dead Rise’. The new film in the brutal saga has revealed the first trailer for its next chapter, which promises to be different from the original trilogy, but with the same degree of madness, necronomicons and, of course, the most impressive deaths in the genre.
In social networks the first trailer for ‘the wicked dead rise again’, which comes after being teased by Bruce Campbell, the protagonist of Sam Raimi’s trilogy. This time, and after the remarkable remake by Fede Álvarez in 2013, the next installment presents a family haunted by the demonic version of the mother, who will give them a bloody time.
Unlike Sam Raimi’s trilogy, which had touches of comedy and dark humor, “the wicked dead rise again’ promises a more brutal tone, like that of Fede Álvarez’s remake. The tape is directed by Lee Cronin, the well-known director of “The Hole in the Ground”, which will be produced by Rob Tapert, as well as Bruce Campbell himself, who brought Ash to life in the original tapes and the Netflix series.
In the cast, saythe wicked dead rise again’ lies Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland, who give life to the sisters and protagonists of the plot, and that Alyssa is the demonic mother who appears in the trailer. The rest of the cast is rounded out by Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols and Nell Fisher.

What is “Evil Dead Rise” about?
The story of “Evil Dead: The Awakening”, due to its Spanish title, is a sequel to the original trilogy, although Ash does not appear at the beginning. It was originally planned to launch on HBO Max, but Warners decided to launch it in traditional theaters. More in the tone of a haunted house of horror, this new entry feels much simpler, but darker than the previous ones.
According to the official synopsis, the story of ‘Evil Dead Rise’ follows “two estranged sisters whose reunion is interrupted by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a battle for survival as they face the most terrifying version of the family. who you can immagine”.
“Evil Dead Rise” will debut next Thursday, April 20, or a day later in some territories. This is going to be one of the big bets of the year in the horror genre, so we’ll have to watch out for its story, and that it manages to scare and deliver some of the most brutal deaths a Hollywood blockbuster can offer.
