Dave Bautista he’s looking forward to his serious acting career and is relieved to finally leave his own Guardians of the Galaxy character Drax behind. He’s trying to be more of a serious actor and he doesn’t want that character to be his legacy.

The actor has a couple of new movies on the way that will push his acting talent. One such project is M. Night Shyamalanis the new horror thriller Knock on the booth, and while speaking to GQ, she explained that her performance involves the most dialogue she’s ever had in a film. She talked about it, saying:

“It’s by far the most I’ve ever spoken in a film. Just huge pages of monologues. We were shooting on film, which is very expensive. And we were shooting with a camera, so you don’t have the luxury of edits. It’s your only chance: you need the perfect shot. There’s a lot of pressure. I want to remember my dialogue, but not at the expense of losing the emotion of the scene.

The other project that is coming is Dune: second partand when it comes to working with the director Denis Villeneuve on the Dune franchise and Blade Runner 2049He said:

“If I could be number one [on the callsheet] with Denis, I’d do it for fucking free. I think that’s how I was able to find out how good I could be. Bring out the best in me. He sees me in a different light, he sees the artist I want to be. This could be how I solve the puzzle.

Bautista is trying to perfect his talents right now and I love that. But one thing he doesn’t care about is being a movie star and he explains that he doesn’t care about fame.

“Honestly, I could give a shit [about being a movie star]. I don’t live a big glamorous life. I live here in Tampa. I don’t care about the spotlight, I don’t care about the fame. I just want to be a better actor. I want respect from my peers. I don’t need accolades, I really don’t, man. It’s about the experience, knowing that I’ve accomplished something.

The dude loves acting and it’s great! I would say Bautista is one of the best actors to come out of the wrestling business. He has already proven that he has more acting skills than Dwayne Johnson. I can’t wait to see what other roles he ends up taking on in the future.
