Aaron Taylor-Johnson reportedly walked away from ‘James Bond’ based on the success of his upcoming projects

At the end of last 2022 rumors emerged: Aaron Taylor-Johnson would be the current preferred candidate to lead the new phase of ‘James Bond’the next batch of movies they would be looking for an actor for who “I was about thirty”. Taylor-Johnson, who turns 33 on June 13, was rumored to have been able to meet with the producers of the franchise, information shared by The Sun which is now confirmed by North American publication Puck.

Said website, which fuels the rumors by getting on the bandwagon of what the aforementioned British tabloid said, agrees to ensure that Taylor-Johnson came to meet Barbara Broccoli, Bond’s boss, in a very successful meeting. Puck examines what he will be mentioning the “father of all castings”that of James Bond. “The rumors surrounding Aaron Taylor-Johnson are true: He sat down with producer Barbara Broccoli and the meeting went well, according to sources”says the journalist Matteo Belloni.

The point is that, while the new path is being traced that will see us without missions of the beloved secret agent for at least a couple of years, Taylor-Johnson’s career could take off ‘too much’. Belloni reflects on this by emphasizing that “while Taylor-Johnson fits the bill (he’s a great British actor, which befits the younger direction the Broccoli wants to take), he’s on the verge of experiencing a starburst.. Whether Sony’s Spider-Man spin-off, ‘Kraven the Hunter’ or ‘The Fall Guy’ produced and starred the work of Ryan Gosling; Taylor-Johnson could ironically end up becoming a star too famous to jump to Bond”.

The next ‘James Bond’ will not only bring us a new incarnation of agent 007, it will mean a “reinvention” of said character. Barbara Broccoli herself commented on it, announcing that it will take some time to firmly outline the future of the mythical spy, a film that deals with the death of Daniel Craig’s version, with what it entails. It is not yet known in which moment of the saga the next film will be set, or if we will find ourselves before a sort of reboot; but what is clear is this the Broccoli try to rejuvenate their goose that lays golden eggs.

Daniel Craig was already in his fifties when he made his farewell in ‘No time to die’, a film after which Bond tries to capture a slightly less mature incarnation of the character (but without overdoing it). “He’s someone who’s been through the trenches, if you will.
