The actor’s representative publicly shared the details of the event with the American media The Hollywood Reporter: “We can confirm that Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries following a weather incident while shoveling snow today. His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.”
As reported by Kristin Vietti, a public information officer for the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office near Reno, Nevada, where Renner has a ranch, the actor’s family contacted them to report the incident. Renner was immediately airlifted to the nearest hospital: “Upon arrival, officers coordinated with the Truckee Meadows Fire District and REMSA Health to arrange for Mr. Jeremy Renner to be medically airlifted to an area hospital. Renner was the only one affected.”

The Sheriff’s Office’s Principal Accident Investigation Team is currently investigating the specific circumstances of the crash. Jeremy Renner has a ranch in the Lake Tahoe area of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the city from which the accident was reported and where 35,000 homes lost power on New Year’s Day in a severe snowstorm.
