The controversies do not stop with the universe of “The Witcher”, and is that after the disastrous premiere of “Blood Origin” and the farewell of Henry Cavill as Geralt de Rivia, now the series is going through a crisis . The creator of the show is aware of this, and believes that the third season could also come in two parts, just like it happened with ‘Stranger Things’ on Netflix.

During an exclusive interview with Collider, Lauren Schmidt has talked about the possibility of splitting the third season of ‘The witcher’ in several parts. This is because technical difficulties in terms of visual effects have caused several delays, not only in the series with Henry Cavill, but throughout Hollywood. It wouldn’t be the first time that the platform decides to release a first batch of episodes, and then the end.

Hissrich admits that ‘The witcher 3’ has at least 8 more months of post-production before its release on the Netflix platform. It is for this reason that they have thought of dividing the episode in two, in order to give space to some chapters to be published as soon as possible, and the rest once the fans have satisfied their need to see Geralt again on the screen. .

However, divided ‘The witcher’ it’s not official yet: “We haven’t discussed it [dividir la temporada], but at this point I think what we see happening in all types of streamers, I wouldn’t rule it out. I think obviously we don’t publish anything that we aren’t incredibly proud of. So that determines our entire release date. And I think it will be interesting. Again, we still have a long way to go, about eight months before the release of season three.”

When does ‘The Witcher’ season 3 air?

‘Stranger Things’, ‘Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities’ and other titles also had this way of launching their new installments in multiple parts, for practical reasons. The words of the creator, then, suggest that the third season of ‘The Witcher’ could be released in August 2023, given the eight months of production that are missing from the chapters.

Meanwhile, Schmidt Hisrrich has been working on more franchise spinoffs, to make the gap between releases less distant, at least in practice. “The Wolf’s Nightmare” was the first of these, with an acceptable reception to Vesemir’s story. However, “Blood Origin” didn’t have the same luck, and its storyline about the beginning of the continent was the lowest in Netflix history.

“The Witcher 3” on Netflix marks the end of Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, and for the fourth installment, Liam Hemsworth will retain the role for the rest of the seasons. For now, all that remains is to wait for the release date of the third batch of episodes and find out what the plans are for its release.
