“It’s been six years since my mom died (I have a feeling it was 2, but 705 at the same time). And unlike most days since she died, this year, these past two weeks, have been among the happiest moments of my life. Giving birth to my daughter and seeing my son meet her were two of the most magical moments I have ever experienced. But with the magic of life often comes the reality of pain. My mother is not here to get to know them and experience that magic. Sometimes the magical moments can also be the hardest. That’s what pain has. I wish my mom was here, but she’s not. So all I can do is hold on to the magic tighter, hold on to my children tighter. Tell them stories about her. Share your favorite things with them. Tell them how much you would have loved them. To anyone experiencing the reality of pain alongside the magic of life, I see you. You are not alone. Don’t ignore either of them. Life can be magical and painful at the same time”.
messages of support and love
