The End of the World arrives in Spanish cinemas on February 3, the apocalypse according to M. Night Shyamalan. ‘They knocked on the door’ is the new from the director of ‘El bosque’ and ‘Tiempo’ and has just released its final trailer and in Spanish:

Starring Dave Bautista, Jonathan Groff, Ben Aldridge, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Kristen Cui, Abby Quinn and Rupert Grint, Shyamalan once again resorts to a single house and very few characters as he did in “The Visit”, to bring us a thriller with fantastic touches that he likes. Based on Paul Tremblay’s novel ‘The Cabin at the End of the World’, ‘There’s a Knock on the Door’ is the story of a girl and her parents who are held hostage by four strangers. The family will then be forced to make an impossible decision that should prevent the Apocalypse.

In this new advance we can already see the devastation brought by the apocalyptic events announced by the kidnappers in the teaser, although the most disturbing thing about the trailer is the politeness, calmness and desperation of the invaders. Shyamalan himself adapts the screenplay alongside Steve Desmond and Michael Sherman and is produced by director, Marc Bienstock (‘Multiple’) and Ashwin Rajan (‘Servant’). The executive producers are Steven Schneider, Christos V. Konstantakopoulos and Ashley Fox.

“Interestingly, it’s the fastest script I’ve ever written”Shyamalan revealed in an interview with Comicbook, “Before ‘Knock on the Door’, ‘Señales’ held that title”. The director also said that this film was in keeping with his latest works, especially ‘Servant’. “with a giant event and ongoing content”. Something similar also happened in ‘The Incident’, where nature defended itself from humanity by expelling a deadly toxin into the air.

Although Shyamalan has been writing his own screenplays based on original ideas for many years, this is not the first adaptation that the director has transferred to the cinema. Already ‘Time’ was loosely based on the comic ‘Castle of Sand’ by Pierre Oscar Levy and Frederik Peeters, but adding enough plot changes to surprise with its own twists to any reader of that graphic novel. It looks like this strategy will be repeated with ‘There’s a Knock on the Door’, which omitted any reference to the novel in its poster or trailer.
