Jake Quickenden reveals he was targeted by trolls who ‘questioned’ how he fathered son Leo

Jake Quickenden revealed that he was targeted by nasty trolls who criticized the way he fathered his one-year-old son, Leo.

The 33-year-old reality TV star said she had a hard time not letting cruel comments affect her mental health when she appeared on her knees with Loose Women with Leo on Monday.

He said the comments affected him the most because they were about his son, whom he shared with Sophie Church, and admitted that he often argued with trolls.

Cruel: Jake Quickenden has revealed that he was targeted by ferocious trolls who asked “questions” about how he fathered his one-year-old son, Leo.

“Unfortunately, if you have a platform, you will always have it, you will have people question your decisions, you will question people like your father.

“It’s kind of shocking, I’m starting to understand this more and more because I always get the feeling that if you met and got to know me, you wouldn’t tell. So why do I let these people influence me if they don’t know me?

“I argue and I let it affect my mental health, and it’s frustrating me. Trolls always choose things that they know will hurt you, it affects you the most when it’s your child.’

The devoted dad also said that Leo “changed my life” while enthusiastically describing him as “the most wonderful little boy”.

Angry: The 33-year-old reality TV star said it was hard not to let the wild troll comments affect her mental health when she appeared on Loose Women with Leo on her knees.

Speaking of upcoming tours with Footloose, Jake admitted that it was difficult to leave little Leo and his fiancee’s son Freddie alone for long.

He added: “The hardest part is leaving the guys for the tour. I’ll see him on Monday.

It’s not the first time Jake has denounced trolling after becoming a father, citing bad comments directed at his son last June.

She told Loose Women at the time: “It was kind of weird, I’ve been on TV long enough to know that someone was going to say my teeth were too big.

“It’s weird that we have to admit it. But when this happened to Leo and people said mean things, I couldn’t help myself.

Paternity: The devoted father enthusiastically described Leo as “the most extraordinary child”, while sharing with his fiancee Sophie Church, Leo “changed my life”.

“The more I thought about it, the more I thought we were all going through tough years, and I thought these people really needed to suffer, and it’s a shame that people deal with things in different ways. They magnify their hatred for another.

“I understand that in a way, although it’s not fair. I hope they see him soon and have someone to talk to.”

After Leo was born last February, vile trolls claimed that the baby “needs Botox” and “looks weird”.

Speaking to Il Sole last year, Jake said, “Frankly, the emotions I felt when he was trolled were anger and a kind of surprise.

“I understand that I can be a little annoying if someone doesn’t like me, so I understand that. But trolling a kid to get a reaction from me is a little low.

“But you must remember that these people may need a normal act of kindness. These people are probably the ones who need it.’

Jake got engaged to his girlfriend, Sophie, while on vacation with his children in Rhodes, Greece, in August.

Elsewhere, Jake expressed his concerns earlier this month after he was told he would need an MRI after other tests to clear up his recent headaches and tinnitus.

The 33-year-old reality star, who lost both her brother and father to bone cancer, had her hearing test for the first time yesterday to find out why her ears were ringing and said she was afraid of getting tested.

He said: “Hearing test was fine. I had minor damage to my left ear but nothing major. Everything was normal, everything was fine, perfect.

“The woman came to clean the wax from my ears, not a gram of earwax. She said she had the cleanest ears of her life. She could really eat lasagna out of my ear canal.

Vicious: This is the first time Jake hasn't talked about trolls since becoming a father, mentioning the nasty comments about his son last June.

‘However, the woman who did the hearing test was fine and referred me to an otolaryngologist because I had a headache.

“So far my tinnitus is not due to hearing damage or earwax, next is the ear, nose and throat specialist, which is not very good.”

The former X Factor contestant told her followers in a previous post: “I’m so scared to go to the tests. I also know how important it is when you’re worried about something.

“This worries me and I think it’s because I lost my father and brother and stayed with them in the hospital this long. I will say it is better to be safe and have everything checked out.

After an appointment with the specialist, a worried Jake told his followers that he had an MRI.

He added: “I have to wait for that to happen now. It’s actually kind of scary, but I prefer to do it to find out what’s going on.

“I have an MRI and was also given a steroid nasal spray. I hope they fix my tinnitus a bit.

“My sinuses are a little inflamed and I hope this nasal spray can help me with my headache and tinnitus.”

Jake, who posted a video from his bed, admitted that he didn’t “sleep well,” admitting, “I hope my MRI will show what’s going on, but I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty worried about it. Oh my God, it’s weird right now. I’m terrified.’

Jake also said he would try cold water therapy and remove chocolate and salt from his diet while doing yoga to improve his condition.

Jake’s father, Paul, died in 2008. His brother Oliver was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, the most common type of bone cancer, and died in 2010 when he was just 16 years old and died two years later.

Yıldız had previously explained in an interview with Loose Women that losing her father and brother put her into a period of depression.

“They were really unlucky,” Jake said of his relatives. “I fought a lot, especially… [Oliver] he was my younger brother – he was 19 – and why should I care for him.

“I went into a downward spiral. I don’t talk about it because I want to pity but I decided to talk about it so people know that you can go out and get better”.

He called his mother “the rock” and described the support of his older brother and friends who helped him get through the other side.
