The Animal Welfare Act comes to maximize the quality of life of our furries, by avoiding prohibited pets or controlling the breeding of dogs and cats with a registry. But at the same time something to say about neutering pets And if you have a house, it’s your business.
The purpose of the new animal law is to control the birth rate and put it in the hands of professionals registered in the livestock registry. This is not a whim, it is very important to avoid unwanted garbage (second reason for abandonment in Spain) and reduce the number of abandonment and death of animals.

If you are not registered in the breeder registry, you will have to comply with the law that states you must. Have your pets neutered if they have access to the outside of the house and they may come into uncontrolled contact with other animals in order to cross the street. The law says:
“Take necessary precautions to prevent uncontrolled breeding of pets. Animals that are kept outside of the home or that have access and may be in uncontrolled contact with other animals should be neutered.”

Also, both dogs and cats spayed before change of owner, either through sale or through an animal guardian who put them up for adoption. If they are puppies and are not six months old, a commitment to further sterilization should be signed (except for those that will be used for breeding).
