Allison Langdon has jumped ship from the Today Show to join A Current Affair, leaving her seat at the breakfast table open for a fresh face.
On Sunday, Channel Nine announced that 60 Minutes reporter Sarah Abo will take Langdon’s place alongside Karl Stefanovic as Today’s new co-host.
“I’m delighted to be part of the amazing and hard-working Today team who manage to educate the nation every morning while having loads of fun,” Sarah, 35, said in a press release.
On Sunday, Channel Nine announced that 60 Minutes reporter Sarah Abo (pictured) will join Karl Stefanovic as Today’s new co-host.
“I’ve been incredibly lucky to work with some of the best journalists in the country on 60 Minutes, traveling the country and the world bringing stories to the Australian public,” she continued.
“It is an absolute privilege to meet so many inspiring people and help tell their stories. I can’t wait to apply everything I’ve learned from these amazing experiences to my new role at Vandag.
“The 3am alarm will be an adjustment but I’m looking forward to keeping Karl busy. I know Ally will make the move to ACA a success and I can’t wait to see her take the chair.”

She will join the Today Show team of Karl Stefanovic, Alex Cullen, Brooke Boney and Tim Davies on Monday 16 January 2023.

Stefanovic said that although he will “miss” his co-star Langdon, he is excited to work with Abo.
“Ally has been exceptional over the past three years,” he said in a press release on Sunday.

“I am delighted to be part of the wonderful and hard-working Today team who manage to educate the nation every morning while having a lot of fun,” Sarah (35) said on Sunday.

“Fortunately, Sarah is a gifted dancer and singer. More importantly, she is a brilliant interviewer and has a great sense of humor. I can’t wait for the country to see all these wonderful qualities at breakfast every day.”
Steven Burling, director of Nine’s Morning Television, called Abo’s nomination “a major coup for today; Sarah has been outstanding in the Today host chair for the past 12 months, filling in for Ally.

Sarah began her career at Network Ten, where she spent two years on the Adelaide newsroom before returning to Melbourne and joining SBS in 2013 as a journalist and presenter.
She has covered major international events, including the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, the 2015 Paris Climate Change Conference, the 2016 US presidential election and the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan, as well as the 2017-2018 refugee crisis in Lebanon, Turkey and Greece.
