A new study by scientists answered a question that worried many.
Bruce Lee died in 1973 – he was only 32 years old. Many fans of the legendary actor and martial artist wondered what could have led him to such an early death. According to official figures, Li died of cerebral edema. And a recent study conducted by Spanish scientists helped to find out what caused this edema.
The researchers took into account the results of the autopsy, as well as the celebrity’s lifestyle and habits. They concluded that Bruce Lee’s cerebral edema was caused by fluid retention. According to experts, physical activity and kidney failure prevented the cleansing of the body.
“Based on the analysis of publicly available information, we believe the cause of death was cerebral edema due to hyponatremia. The inability of the kidneys to excrete excess water killed Bruce Lee,” the Clinical Kidney Journal quotes the researchers as saying.
