Kate Middleton pays homage to the late Queen Elizabeth with jewels on Remembrance Day: the photos

Kate MiddletonAged 40, she wore jewelry to honor the deceased Queen Elizabeth II on the first Memorial Day since his death. The Princess of Wales chose to wear the same pieces, including a pearl necklace and pearl drop earrings, that she wore to the Queen’s funeral in September, when she appeared at the Festival of Remembrance at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Saturday . . She paired the pieces with a black blazer and black maxi skirt as she strolled by prince william at the annual event.

The jewels also belonged to Queen Elizabeth II before her death. She wore the necklace to a state banquet in Bangladesh in 1983 and the Bahraini pearl earrings were presented to her at her wedding to prince philip in 1947. The earrings were fashioned from a shell containing seven pearls that the Bahraini ruler gave to the Queen at her wedding in 1947, according to Her Majesty’s Jewelery Vault🇧🇷

They include a large round diamond with a smaller circle of diamonds dangling below it, and three baguette cut diamonds dangling there, with three smaller diamonds giving way to the dangling pearl. As the three-strand necklace is also made of pearls, the two pieces go very well together and Kate has worn them more than once.

In addition to Remembrance Day events, Kate wore both pieces to Prince Philip’s funeral in 2021 and earrings only during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June. Since pearls are often a symbol of mourning, it makes sense that the princess would choose to wear them at funerals and on the last Remembrance Day. They matched her dress perfectly and were a great way to keep the monarch close.

In addition to the first day of the annual event, Kate, William and a few other members of the royal family including king charles Y Camilla, Queen Consort, attended the Remembrance Sunday ceremony at the Cenotaph in Whitehall on Sunday. Kate wore a sleek black coat alongside Camila, who also wore a black coat, for part of the ceremony. Both completed their looks with headpieces, including a hat for Kate and a fascinator for Camilla.
