George Martin seems to do absolutely everything to avoid writing The Winds of Winter. So on a recent episode of the History of Westeros podcast, he said he would no longer allow the authors of the series to misuse his books.
After the terrible ratings of the last episodes of Game of Thrones, George Martin decided to check the writers and producers much more carefully. The writer said he has influence over the authors of the new series and can even make changes to the script.
“I have a creative influence on the project. It depends on the relationship between me and the showrunners. If they don’t agree with me, I can convince them. I don’t have the power to command on set, but I know my books well so I can make changes to the script,” the writer said.
