Elizabeth Debicki looks just like Lady Di wearing the iconic ‘revenge dress’

As the Crown approaches the modern age, there is more speculation than ever about the events it will portray and how. Lady Di’s death for example, it is being treated with sensitivity, although we will not see it until the sixth and final season, which is currently being shot.

The fifth season, however, will deal with the divorce, caused mainly by the affair between then Prince Charles and his now wife Camilla Parker Bowles. In 1994, Carlos publicly admitted the affair in a television documentary, and that night, Diana hit the streets in a Christina Stambolian cocktail dress that immediately became synonymous with her post-royal style. When elizabeth debicki donning a recreation of the garment, she said, it felt “very significant and quite powerful, but it also triggered something in me as an actress. I can’t explain it. It’s quite incredible that a dress represents a moment in history, or that the life of this person represents so much and becomes an icon. So it was a great day on set for me.”

We can get ahead of this time when the fifth season premieres on Netflix on November 9.
