Channel Seven will ‘return my Kitchen Rules’ after comeback season

One television industry expert has predicted that Channel Seven will likely renew their successful new cooking show, My Kitchen Rules.

This is despite the fact that the fan favorite has consistently been beaten on the subway night charts this season.

However, TV critic Colin Vickery made an estimate based on “Total TV Numbers,” according to Tonight Television’s report.

These are ratings that take into account the growing and BVOD viewers as well as the fans watching the cooking competition in Australia’s regional regions.

Using this statistic, My Kitchen Rules regularly attracts over 900,000 viewers per episode.

The report states that recent MKR episodes have reached 964,000, 967,000 and 868,000 in “Total TV” ratings.

The publication says these numbers compare favorably with Channel 10’s MasterChef Australia.

The rival of MKR’s cooking shows has averaged 840,000 total viewers this season, with MasterChef Part 2’s finale hitting 1.1 million fans.

“Looking at the total TV numbers, the reboot of My Kitchen Rules should be considered a success,” Vickery said.

“I’m sure Channel Seven will announce a season for 2023”.

It looks like TV Total ratings will determine MKR's fate (pictured), as the show has been consistently beaten on nightly subway numbers this season.

Vickery said the show’s ratings remained high even after famed British chef Nigella Lawson left mid-season.

He said new guest judges, including Matt Preston and Colin Fassnidge, continue to attract fans.

Vickery added that Total TV figures clearly show that there is a lot of room in the market for both MRK and MasterChef.

The report comes after MKR brought in 484,000 subway spectators Monday evening.
