Film critic on Tarantino’s choice for ‘greatest film of all time’: ‘It opened an era’

The director made the right choice, and here’s why.

Quentin Tarantino called Jaws the greatest film project in history. The director was very vague about his choice, preferring to praise blockbuster creator Steven Spielberg. Film critic Oksana Agapova added to the thought of the film maestro, explaining what the modern audience owes to the 1975 film.

“Jaws came at a time when Hollywood was beginning to stagnate in its brilliant ideas. Back then, social dramas with apostates were in great demand. It was “Jaws” that opened up the era we live in today – the era of great entertainment cinema,” Agapova explained in an interview with PopCornNews.

The film critic is not surprised that the film caused a furore at the time. Before the 1970s, the film was a real breakthrough.

“The fact is that in the movie “Jaws” we are immersed in this terrible atmosphere. Fearful, incomprehensible. It was an absolutely revolutionary project for its time. The public saw the blockbuster for the first time, and even with cool special effects and a cool plot,” noted the expert.

Finally, Agapova added that next to the “Jaws” Tarantino’s film “Pulp Fiction” would be placed.
