George Clarke’s new girlfriend received the blessing of her late husband’s new family after he went public with his new relationship.

Swiss opera singer Florence Hvorostovsky, 52, confirmed her romance with 48-year-old George when they were spotted this month. Hand in hand in Ibiza.

Before meeting George, she was married to Russian baritone Dmitri Hvorostovsky, and the couple had two children, Nina, 15, and Maxim, 19, before she tragically died of brain cancer at the age of 55 in 2017.

Florence was at odds with her late husband’s family, including Dmitri’s parents, who live in Moscow and now say they support his decision to start dating again.

In a private conversation with MailOnline, Dmitri’s cousin Alexey Zarkhin, a construction contractor in Siberia, said the family understood why Florence moved on.

“We have to understand that if a woman does not support her femininity, she will very quickly turn into an old woman,” she said. “Then neither her, nor her children, nor anyone else will be interested in anyone.

“No matter how wonderful her late husband may be and how much he loves her, we all, her children and the people, need a vibrant, vibrant and beautiful Florence.”

Born in Italy and fluent in Russian, Florence met Dmitri in 1999 at the Bolshoi Theater in Geneva.

He played the role of the world-famous baritone Don Juan, and Florence was his partner, the couple began their romance after Dmitri kissed him at rehearsal.

Although Florence did not live in Russia, she continued to support her husband’s legacy there by performing concerts in Moscow for the Dmitry Hvorostovsky Foundation, which he had suspended due to the war in Ukraine.

It is unknown when Florence began dating architect George. He was known for real estate shows like Amazing Spaces and The Restoration Man, but they were together at Wimbledon earlier this month.

The news of the couple’s romance comes five months after it became known that George had split from wife Katie Morgan Jones.

In February, cracks appeared when they were said to be putting their £870,000 worth of rural bungalows up for sale.

The Sun reports that then-marketing consultant Katie hinted at their breakup in a series of cryptic Instagram posts before her page was later made private.

He was said to have shared a post late last year claiming he had “experienced the most bizarre and traumatic situation”, while a post uploaded last month said, “Now to the future. After a few strange years . . . it’s time for a change.”

In other missions, he would talk about “isolated blocks only”, a “test of mental agility”, and also “many other trials and tribulations, tears, and revelations.”

The couple, who got married in Ibiza in 2018, previously lived in their London home after they got married, but soon moved into a house said to be sold in the Cotswolds.

George was previously married to animator Catriona Drummond, but they separated more than 10 years later in 2014. The former couple shares children Georgie and Emilio and daughter Iona.

She confirmed her split in a statement at the time, “We’ve been married for a long time and have decided to separate.

“We have separate custody of the children and are going through an amicable separation and divorce.”
