Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters claimed that he was “much, much, much more important” than Canadian artists Drake and The Weeknd after critics did not come to review his performance.
The 78-year-old rocker made the bold statement in a recent interview with Canadian The Globe and the Mail.
A frustrated Roger asked the interviewer why their latest program in the Canadian city had not been reviewed by others on the air or in the region.

Speech: Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters claimed he was “much, much, much more important” than Canadian artists Drake and The Weeknd after critics did not come to rate his performance.
He was later told The Weeknd would open their “After Hours’ Til Dawn” tour in Toronto that same night, which was canceled due to the nationwide power outage.
This tour will be The Weeknd’s first global stadium tour and supports their fourth and fifth studio albums After Hours (2020) and Dawn FM (2022).
Roger replied: “I have no idea what or who Weeknd is because I don’t listen to much music. People told me he was a great actor.
“Well, good luck to him. I have nothing against him. Wouldn’t it be possible to judge his show one night and my show the next? “I’m not trying to make a personal attack. I just say it looks weird.

Furious: A frustrated Roger asked the interviewer why their latest program in the Canadian city had not been reviewed by others on the air or in the region.
He also cast a shadow over the town’s domestic superstar Drake: “Anyway, with all due respect to the Weeknd of Drake or anyone else, they’re already much, much, much more important than any of the billions of streams they have.
The musician concluded by saying: “Things are happening here that are fundamental to all of our lives.”
Roger formed Pink Floyd in 1965 with Syd (guitar, vocals), Nick (drums), and Richard (keyboards, vocals).

“Anyway, with all due respect to the Weeknd of Drake or anyone, I’m much, much, much more important than anyone, no matter how many billions of streams they have,” Roger said.
David joined the band two years later, in 1967, and Syd left the following year due to mental health issues.
There have been several reports of internal strife with the group, with Richard leaving the band in 1979, followed by Roger’s arrival in 1985.
Roger has amassed a staggering £247m fortune from a highly successful solo career, including his companies Roger Waters Music UK and Roger Waters Music Overseas.
In 2005, the original cast of Roger, Richard, David and Nick met for the first time in 24 years for the Live 8 concert in London, three years before Richard’s death.

Famous Faces: Roger rose to fame as a member of the rock band Pink Floyd (LR in 1971), Nick Mason, David Gilmour, and Richard Wright
