Channel Nine’s Underbelly: Vanishing Act makers say viewers can expect a potential new theory Behind Sydney’s mysterious disappearance scammer Melissa Caddick.

The two-part series, starring Wentworth actress Kate Atkinson, 49, will premiere on Sunday night’s Nine and 9Now and continue Monday.

But Nine’s head of drama Andy Ryan has warned franchise fans that it’s impossible to answer all questions about the high-profile scam that disappeared in November 2021.

Ryan did not reveal any spoilers in the chat, but added that viewers can expect more than a recap of the facts.

“This was a story that raised all sorts of questions about things like trust, deception.

Caddick, a financial advisor, defrauded nearly $30 million from 60 clients, most of them friends and family, to finance an extravagant lifestyle.

Caddick was last seen shortly after her $7 million Dover Heights home, which she shared with her husband, DJ Anthony Koletti, was searched by the Australian Federal Police and ASIC investigators.

Three months after Caddick’s disappearance, a severed foot was found on NSW’s south coast, near Tathra, about five and a half hours from Sydney. High-flying intrigue was believed to have died after DNA tests confirmed the limb belonged to Caddick, 49.

Veteran actor Colin Friels (Mystery Road), Home and Away’s Tai Hara, Love Child’s Maya Stange and Sophie Bloom, and Out of the Blu’s Ursula are in the cast of Underbelly: Vanishing Act, which was produced by Screentime and shot last year. Mills is included.
