Revelers compete for style award on Ayr’s Scottish Great National Women’s Day

With much of the country experiencing a shifting spring weather, Ayr Racecourse entertainers spent a sunny afternoon today donning strappy dresses and sandals.

Aiming to further enhance the appeal of Women’s Day, race enthusiasts paraded along the route with a series of colorful creations, of course completed by a hatter.

A woman stood out from the crowd in her fluffy, bright yellow jacket and lime green hat, while a group of friends flaunted their perfect brooches in a variety of summer dresses.

Another stood out in an off-the-shoulder red dress with thick hip-length slits, despite the below-freezing temperatures in Ayr.

Today is womens Day! Fun-goers flaunt their perfect brooches in strappy dresses and sandals as they enjoy a sunny afternoon at Ayr Racecourse for the Coral Scottish Grand National.

The hat is the way to do it!  A cheerful party girl chose an orange feathered hat for the afternoon at the races.

Simply put, this pilot wore a beaded headband instead of a hat and stopped to take a selfie of his glamorous look.

One spectator wore a very elegant gray hat adorned with an earring flower.  While it looks very attractive, we're not sure it has the best view of the track.

One of the lovers wore a blue glamor to match her navy blue dress, which she combined with glamorous make-up and dramatic blue eyeliner.

Ladies dared cold-wearing bustiers and tops, and some even took off their coats to make the most of the Scottish sun.

What cold wave?  Determined not to spoil the fun of the cold, these women went out in their suspenders.

But that’s not surprising, as there are four style awards for both men and women over the course of the afternoon.

While the judges explore the track for the most stylish woman and the most elegant gentleman, there are also prizes for the most stylish hat and the most stylish couple.

The Best Dressed Woman award winner will return home with a £500 voucher for Quiz outfits, a champagne afternoon tea at Derby Lane, which describes itself as a Hamptons-style restaurant in Finneiston, and a skin rejuvenation treatment inside. Derby Road. A clinic in Ayrshire.

Fun in the sun!  Rocking monochrome and tonal ensembles, a group of women arrived for a fun day at the races.

Old Hollywood Charm: This couple brought a vintage-inspired vibe to the day with leopard print and trendy hats.

Meanwhile, the smartest gentleman can go on a £500 Remus Man shopping trip, along with the chance to take 10 of his friends to an Ayrshire Bulls game in a full-fee hospitality suite at Ayr Rugby Club and spend £125 at The Drunken Coo steakhouse.

The crowd was on track for the first time in three years, so it’s no surprise that attendees quickly rushed into the atmosphere as they sipped beers and bubbly drinks in glasses.

The two-day event will conclude tomorrow afternoon at the Coral Scottish Grand National, the Listed Hillhouse Quarry Handicap Chase is today’s feature length race and the event is seen as a warm-up for the Grand National next week at Aintree.
