Gogglebox Australia is still a hit for Channel 10

Channel Seven beat network rivals in the charts on Thursday, thanks to the strong performance of its news team and AFL coverage.

However, it was Gogglebox Australia on commercial Channel 10 that took third place and scored entertainment goals.

The hit show, where every day Australians react to the best television moments of the week, has drawn a massive metropolitan audience of 502,000 viewers.

Channel Nine dropped to second place on the network’s overall chart for coverage of the NRL Titans-West Tigers game, which drew only 316,000 fans.

Meanwhile, 438,000 AFL fans were recruited from major subway centers to see the Swans lose a close game against the Western Bulldogs at Marvel Stadium.

Nine was beaten by the Zeven news department on Thursday, but barely.

Seven Nightly News drew 878,000 viewers versus Nine News’ 838.00 rating on Metro.

Home and Away struggles with a seasonal drop for Seven, a dark spot on a normally clear night.

The network’s The Chase Australia held steady at 446,000 viewers, with a rating of just 382.00.

Channel 10 doesn’t have much to celebrate outside of Googlebox.

The project is still in trouble, but it scored better than 293,000 Metro viewers, an improvement over last week.

First Dates Australia isn’t doing much for the network, either.

The dating show, where singles have matchmaker-approved blind dates, managed to gain just 314,000 fans in the subway rankings.
