Scott Mills announced his retirement from BBC Radio 1 after nearly 25 years.
The station’s weekday afternoon voice radio host will replace radio legend Steven Wright as host of the Radio 2 show.
Chris Stark, one of Scott’s presenters, also announced that he will be leaving his presentations, which will be broadcast between 13:30 and 15:00 on Friday.

The news, in a statement on BBC Radio 1’s official Twitter account, said, “It’s a sad day as we say goodbye to BBCR1 and a huge thank you to legends Scott Mills and Chris Stark.
I wish you the best for the future, you will be a great lady. Turn on Radio 1 next Tuesday at 2:00 PM for a big announcement.
The news came when Steve announced that his weekday afternoon show would be ending after more than 20 years.
The radio veteran told listeners that his boss told him he wanted to do “something different” at lunchtime.
