Maria wrote on social media: “I was 21 years old when I had my abortion and not a day went by when I wasn’t grateful for having safe access to the procedure and health care, given my circumstances.”
“We are seeing a violent attack on physical autonomy and agency. Being forced to become pregnant is not a respectable consequence of femininity. This is a violation of personality,” he continued.
“And it’s not about kids or honoring personality. So where is the action for equal access to education, health care and birth control? Where’s the damn quick action against major injustices like gun violence, child marriage and sexual abuse?’

Maria offered her condolences to those directly affected by the decision.
I am filled with people who will be emotionally damaged or killed by unsafe alleys and deprivation of health care. My heart goes out especially to the marginalized communities who will die disproportionately as a result of this decision.”
After the words of US President Joe Biden, Maria wrote: “This is a sad day in history.”
“I will never take my abortion lightly and I hope you will not shut up because we must continue to fight for our right to safe abortion. Don’t let that disappoint you, let it motivate you to take action,” he concluded.

The Supreme Court decided to overturn the historic 1973 Roe v Wade decision, ending the constitutional protections for abortion that had been in place for nearly 50 years.
Power has now been returned to individual states to decide whether to allow trials.
Women with unwanted pregnancies in America will now face the choice of traveling to another state where the procedure will remain legal and available, purchasing abortion pills online, or having a potentially dangerous illegal abortion.

Speaking at the White House, President Joe Biden said it was “a sad day for the court and the country”. He described the Supreme Court’s decision as “wrong, extreme and unexpected”. Pictured on June 24
