The popular broadcaster fears she’ll trip again after suffering a serious injury when she fell home just before the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Gloria Hunniford broke her eye socket and injured her leg in a horrific fall at home before the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend.
The veteran broadcaster has since admitted to being “petrified” for falling back after the accident.
The 82-year-old revealed to Loose Women: “I’m afraid I have a big one this time. What I did was trip over a carpet and fall on my stomach.

“I got it all on a very hard wooden floor and it was all in the face. I broke a bone under the eye.
“There’s a bone around your eye that holds the socket in place that’s actually broken, so as long as the muscle doesn’t break, my vision is fine right now.”
Hunniford was supposed to take part in a parade for the Jubilee celebrations, but had to retire due to his injuries.
She confessed that the fall had dented her confidence and was now “petrified” of stumbling again and looking for danger when she was away from home.
However, the Portadown-born star thanked the NHS after an ambulance arrived at her home in 10 minutes.

“I was worried about a clot or something in my brain because a friend of mine had a similar fall and I was so relieved to find that wasn’t the case,” she added.
“They were great and they did it [scanned] my neck, they did everything they should have done, but they were more concerned about the eye.
She thought she had broken her breastbone as well, but scans revealed it was just muscle damage.
