The death of Temls (Isaac) – and its meaning
Isaac, previously known as TemlS, dies in the middle of the series. It is sent to the isolator to feed hybrid creatures, but everything is not according to plan: Isaac is trapped and flying xenomorphs attack. One of the samples spits on his face with corrosive liquid, which burns the body, and then the entire herd finishes it and sucks the contents from the synthetic scale.
This scene is not only an emotional blow to the public, but also a plot turn: the death of Isaac finally proves that hybrids are not even immortal, despite the statements of the prodigy.
The performer of the role of Kit Young in an interview noted that his hero ‘died in the name of science that he loved so much’.
The scene is made by practical special effects and the use of a living sheep on the set. Even the synthetic nature of the character does not save from the horror of a collision with strangers.
Consequences for the island and the heroes
The death of Arthur and Isaac completely changes power relations on the research island. Two important characters immediately leave the story in one series, which makes it clear: from now on no one is protected – neither people nor hybrids. Cavalier’s battle control over the situation starts to weaken quickly and the atmosphere of fear and unknown is only increasing.
