A cult -horror, an underrated thriller and one of the worst film adjustments in history.
The legendary horror master Stephen King decided on his personal top of the adjustment of his works – and shared this list for a hypothetical matter: if I only had to choose three films to take them to a desert island.
In the documentary “A Night at the Movies: The Horrors of Stephen King”, the writer was invited to name the three most important adjustments of his own books. King Koos Mizeri, Dead Zone and Kujo.
Mizeri (1990) is the most entitled from The Trinity, the story of a writer who was trapped by a crazy fan. The film was the only film in King Awarded Oscars: Katie Bates, whose Heldin Annie Wilks, is still considered one of the most terrible villains in the history of the cinema.

The Dead Zone (1983) is the work of director David Kronenberg, where Christopher Waken played a teacher who was awakened from a coma with extrasensory skills. King is especially appreciated by the combination of personal drama and horror in this film, and notes the moving play of Walken and the atmosphere of hopelessness created by Kronenberg.

The third choice is “Kujo” (1983), the story of how the mother and the little son are imprisoned: they are besieged by the hectic Senbernar. According to King, this is one of the most underrated film adjustments of his work. The book “Kujo” distinguishes itself by a slightly encouraging final, but the intensity of fear remains the same. However, this did not help the film: it has a low rating in Kinopoisk – only 6.4 out of 10.

Of course the writer is not only limited to only horror. Under the films that King would also take to the uninhabited island – the classic “Citizen Kane” Orson Wells and “Casablanca”, as well as “psycho” Alfred Hitchcock, “Exit to the Devil” and both versions of the Dawn of the Dead: the original George Romero 1978.
