In Dexter: Resurrection, the most important character has just died – fans are expected to be furious

In a new episode, the audience witnessed the death of one of the most recognizable characters in the Franchise – Angel Batista, who was played by David Zeyes for almost twenty years.

How Angel Batista died

According to the plot, the Batista had long suspected that it was Dexter, and not his colleague James, that was the butcher from Bay Harbor. In the ‘resurrection’ he finally decides to reach the truth and actually goes to VA-Bank: he contacts the old acquaintances, tries to draw his colleagues in the investigation and the billionaire Leon Prostiter (Peter Dinklage) enters.

It was the meeting with the gun that became fatal. In his spontaneous ‘murder room’, the Batista was a victim of the experiment: the provider wanted to see Dexter personally in action. Dexter, faithful to his “code”, refused to kill his ex -friend and tried to free him. But the moment was missed – in the battle of the Batist, he expressed everything he had collected for many years, accused Dexter of the death of Dokes and Maria, and then the prior intervened and brought out several bullets in Angel.

The last words of the fighting sounded like a sentence: “You went, Dexter Morgan.”

The reaction of the actor and spectators

David Zeyes admitted that he was aware of the fate of his hero before filming. According to him, the death of Batista was inevitable and he became a worthy point in the long path of the character:

“This is bitter, but to be honest. Every other option would be a deception.”

Fans took the death of the hero extremely painful. The social networks discuss that the batist was one of the last binding elements with the original Dexter, and now the series seemed to lose his heart. Some still hope for the “twist” and a possible beautiful salvation, but the majority admits: the story of the character has ended.

One of the fans wrote:

“I don’t believe Angel is dead. He definitely had to wear a body armor!”

Another commentator was concise: “Bro, it’s over.” And someone tried to keep hope:

“If we have learned something for all the years of” Dester “, it is that every death can come to the end of the series. But it is probably really dead.”

There is only one episode left for the final of the season, and it is clear that the death of Batista will become a catalyst for the last fight between Dester and Leon Propter. The final of the first season of “Resurrection” will be broadcast in a week – 5 September.
