The Star of the “Fantastic Four” called the best film in history: in Russia it was appreciated at 8 out of 10

The actress, known for the “Ozark” and “Americans” series, admitted that she was assessing this tape once a year and advises everyone. We are talking about the classics of 1950 “All about Eve” (All Over Eve) – Drama Joseph L. Mankevich with Bett Davis and Ann Baxter in the main roles. In the Russian rating “Kinopoisk” the film was an estimate of 8.0 out of 10.

According to Garner, this is a “perfect film” with excellent acting:

“Bett Davis is incredible. Ann Baxter, who plays Yves Harrington, is incredible. I watch this film at least once a year, and sometimes several times. I think everyone should see it.”

“All about Eve” is an action -packed comedy drama about the aging star of Broadway and her obsessive fan trying to take her place. The photo received 14 nominations for Oscar-a-record that still shares with the Titanic and La La Land, and remains the only film in history nominated for Oscar for four female roles at the same time.

Interesting is that history is based on the real case. Actress Elizabeth Bergner hired a fan as an assistant, but she soon tried to intercept her career. This case formed the basis of the story of Mary Orr “Wisdom Yves”, published in the magazine Cosmopolitan, which inspired Mankevich to film adaptation.

On the set, Davis, known for his complex character, there were no conflicts with the team. Moreover, she fell in love with the film partner of Gary Merrill and they were married.

Later the actress remembered:

“It was an enchanting project from the first to the last day – an excellent script, an excellent director and actors, satisfied with their roles.”
