Why Frank Dillane left “Fear The Walking Dead”

For fans, “Fear the Walking Dead” (spin-off the cult series of AMC “Walking Dead”) the death of Nika Clark in the fourth season became a real shock.

It turned out to be even more unexpected that it was not the decision of the screenwriters, but the personal choice of the performer of the role – the British actor Frank Dillane.

Who is Frank Dillane and his hero

Dillane, also known for the role of young Tom Riddle in the movie Harry Potter and Prince Pureings, played Nika Clark from the very first season “Fear the Walking Dead”. His character is the eldest son Madison Clark, a former drug addict, who managed to survive in the world of a zombie apocalyps and became one of the most important members of the group. Nick was distinguished by an unpredictable character, the willingness to take risks and a special emotional depth.

According to the official words of the actor, after three or four years in the project, he felt that he had completely revealed his hero and was ready to continue.

Dillane wanted to try himself in other roles, return to Europe and also admitted that filming in a large television series – physically and emotionally tiring work.

Why Frank Dillane left “Fear The Walking Dead”

However, other versions went between fans and colleagues. Based on the comments from former team members and observations in fan forums, Frank did not like:

  • frequent movements of the film team and a change in locations (including moving to Texas);
  • the loss of part of the old composition of the actors and the team after the shift of the showraners in the fourth season;
  • Creative “restart” of the show, which changed the tone and focus of history;
  • Active promotion, participation in conventions and interviews, to which he belonged, according to some, without much enthusiasm.

Some fans suggest that Dillane the AMC car is just tired and wanted a larger creative diversity. The actor with difficulty has passed public events due to increased fear.

Nick’s departure was to be “afraid of the Walking Dead” with a serious blow: the character was one of the fan animals from the first season. But for the series, this became the opportunity to restart the storylines, causing the roles of other heroes, such as Morgan Jones and Madison Clark, who returned in the fifth season.
