The super boss is furiously cooking. “Can’t we do this?” barks at a subordinate who raises Robin Hood after a man is killed by an arrow.
“Are you starting to give nicknames to wanted killers? These are good people, I don’t want their tragedy to turn into a sticky head.
DCS Ian St Clair (David Morrissey) in Sherwood (BBC1) better get used to the sticky wordplay. Any reporter will want to know if he’s taking the Merrie Men for routine questioning and if Brother Tuck has an alibi for the night in question.
This is Nottingham and its boss is actually the sheriff (played by Sunetra Sarker). But St Clair has a bigger problem. All the drama, apparently serious and political, is about to be a Midsomer murder.

The victim, former miner Gary Jackson (Alun Armstrong), was shot in the heart with a crossbow on his way home from the workers’ club. All his neighbors have a reason to hate him – and they are all interpreted by star names.
Lorraine Ashbourne is the head of the local crime family. Her son is the local taxi driver and her husband (Philip Jackson) holds targets in his cabin where people can practice throwing axes. Gary hated them, but on the other hand, he was a man whose main hobby was holding grudges; At the wedding of the local Tory council candidate (Joanne Froggatt), Gary said “Scab” when someone mentioned the father of the bride.
She spat the same insult at the men she’s been with for 30 years. Some in the city tried to forget the 1984 miners’ strike, when the National Union of Miners rioted to prevent their Democratic Union of Miners from going to the mines.
Gary hasn’t forgiven or forgotten anything: he fueled a feud that separated his wife (Lesley Manville) from his sister and brother-in-law (Claire Rushbrook and Kevin Doyle).

As with Midsomer, we were so busy spotting familiar faces that it was difficult to focus on the plot. I can’t shake the suspicion that another character will die unexpectedly in episode two tonight. † † was probably killed in a sword fight with 20 sheriff’s men in the fortifications.
Since one character lives in the rugged Sherwood Forest and practices archery, we already have a good idea of who the killer is. He’s wearing one of those hoodies that hides half of his head – yes, that’s the Robin Hoodie.
She needed fashion advice from rapper Tinie (formerly known as Tinie Tempah, but lost her Tempah). Tinie wore a sling bag around her neck while promoting Extraordinary Portraits (BBC1). He risks choking himself if he’s not careful.

Take a look at some photos of Miss Thatcher, Tinie or maybe Dame Edna Everage and you will see how to carry a bag correctly.
She also wore a cable-knit sweater with holes under her shoulders. It seemed half finished. Landlord Harriet Middleton could have warned her: she helped raise more than £100,000 by knitting a hat for an MRI scanner at her local hospital in Lerwick, Shetland.
Harriet commissioned the painting by the highly idiosyncratic artist Stuart Pearson Wright, whose art combines the vibrancy of a photograph with the exaggeration of a caricature.
He depicted Harriet in her favorite vest. She gave Stuart a scarf that excited him. “Sometimes I walk around the house in my underwear and scarf,” she said cheerfully, “to keep important things warm.” Aren’t we all?
