Despite the nearly three -year silence, the project, which had already succeeded in burying, showed unexpected signs of life.
According to Insider Daniel Richtman, the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series may have the second season. There is no confirmation from Disney+yet, but the hearing looks pretty logical – so persistently Yuen McGregor hinted in recent years that he wanted to return to the role of a bearded Jedi. Apparently they finally heard in Lucasfilm.
Initially, “Obi-Wan Kenobi” was submitted as a “mini series”, that is, a story with one season, which “Emmy” claimed in the corresponding category. Obi-Wan was even nominated in 2023, but he lost to the Netflix Breeze project. In industry, however, it is common: calling the “mini” series is no sense, but just a way to crawl into a more convenient reward category. So if Disney+ decides to continue, nobody will be particularly surprised.

Remember that initially the story of Obi-Wan was conceived as a film trilogy. Screenwriter Stuart Bitty said that he offered Lucasfilm three full-fledged films in the early 2010, but the project was postponed against the background of “Okhoya-Odin” and “Solo”. Later it was animated again – already in the format of the series, which was released on Disney+in 2022.
Critics accepted the series The Heat: 82% on Rotten Tomatoes. The public was more modest (for example, only 6.2 in Kinopoisk), but many wrote it to the next Gulf of Revoy-Bombing of dissatisfied fans, because the Iron Heart recently happened to the Marvel series. Despite all this, McGregor, based on the interview, was clearly not against return – and seemed to wait in the wings.
