Molly-Mae Hague has certainly made a name for herself after going to Love Island with 150,000 subscribers and now amassing over 6 million, but it could have ended completely differently.
Molly-Mae Hague left Love Island Village in 2019 and became the most successful contestant on the ITV show.
The star became the creative director of PrettyLittleThing, created her own self-tanner brand, and recently released her book, Becoming Molly-Mae.
However, things could have been incredibly different for the famous influencer, with Molly-Mae now revealing that she actually rehearsed for the show the year before.
In her new book released on June 9, Molly said she “introduced herself” by attending the show, but added that she had a few hiccups along the way.

He said, “I had actually auditioned for Love Island the year before when I was just turning 18 and living with my mom.
“I submitted an application form and the production team asked me to come to an audition in London. I was wearing red pants and a black top, I remember it perfectly well, and I sat in a room with about 30 or 40 other girls. . We are all waiting to be called one by one ”.
Molly-Mae confessed that she did not attend her interview and was “very quiet”.
He added in the book: “Looking back, [I was] too young and not ready. I know she didn’t have a place on the show. ”
The 23-year-old said she was “so happy” that she didn’t get the job the first time, adding that the timing was “right” the following year.
After applying the previous year, Molly was surprised when she received a direct message from a member of the casting team asking her to audition.
From that email, the star said she adapted “naturally” and found out she was the first person to audition for the show.

Once Molly secured her spot on the show, she focused on business; she added in the book: “I didn’t think I would find love on the show. I was hoping to do it, but I didn’t keep hoping to find a man for sure. ”
Now, Molly confesses that she loves watching her entry clip, calling the season a “really powerful moment”, adding, “I knew my life would never be the same after I walked into this village.”
Molly-Mae then met her boyfriend Tommy Fury on the show, taking second place as the pair prepared to celebrate their third anniversary this year.
