Love Island’s Liam Llewellyn and Gemma Owen have more in common than previously thought, as they both have famous sporting parents.

Liam’s father turned out to be Welsh rugby star David Llewellyn, or Dai as his friends are known.

David is a former Welsh International Rugby Union player and now trains professional athletes including boxing champion Joe Cordina.

Liam, 22, teamed up with Gemma, 19, daughter of footballer Michael Owen, at the start of the new ITV series.

Gemma, however, went crazy when the Italian stallion Davide Sanclimenti entered the villa.

She was then chosen by the 27-year-old as the first new couple on the show.

He captioned a message: “My boy. So proud of your son … I love you. Go and get it !! “

Liam remained single and vulnerable after Davide’s decision to partner with Gemma.

He currently risks being expelled from the island.

This could all change when two new bombs enter the village.

At the end of the episode on Tuesday evening (June 7), it was revealed that two new girls, Afia Tonkmor and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, would have joined the other islanders.

The two new girls aren’t afraid to step on their toes to get what they want.

Afia, 25, said: “If I see a guy I want in town, I will definitely make sure I find him.”

“Attention girls, I am coming to get your men.”

Ekin-Su, 27, said: “I can’t wait to enter the village because I personally think I will bring everything, the complete package: drama, tears, laughter, joy and love.”

“I’m looking for the love of my life, I’m not here to make friends. If anyone wants to argue with me, go ahead and do so. “

Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2
