
Craig Charles’ radio show has been canceled, while Tony Blackburn’s will air Sunday night, with RuPaul’s Drag Race legend Michelle Visage joining the lineup.
BBC Radio 2 has announced a major programming change, with the cancellation of the show by former Coronation Street star Craig Charles.
Craig Charles’s House Party, which airs Saturdays from 10pm to midnight, is drawing to a close, as are Ana Matronic’s Dance Devotion and Dr. Rangan Chatterjee’s show.
Meanwhile, Tony Blackburn’s golden hour moves to a new time slot on Sunday evenings between 7pm and 8pm.
And RuPaul’s Drag Race legend Michelle Visage joins the lineup with her Friday night show, as well as returning with the second series of her BBC Sounds podcast, Michelle Visage’s Rule Breakers.

Speaking of his departure from Radio 2, Craig said, “Every party must have an end and while I’m preparing my Trunk of Funk on Radio 2, I’ve loved bringing the party to their funky listeners every Saturday night.”
Michelle, who has truly cemented her space as a BBC staple, said: “I am delighted to broadcast my program to millions of listeners on Radio 2, where every Friday night I will kick listeners’ weekends in style. fabulous with some of my all time favorite songs that promise to put you in a good mood.
“And I’m back with another set of my Rule Breakers for BBC Sounds. I am so excited! Just do it !”
Other changes include Fearne Cotton’s Sounds of the 90s show which runs from 10pm to midnight on Fridays at the same time on Saturdays.

The Rock Show with Johnnie Walker moves into the Friday night time slot, between 11pm and midnight.
And Sounds of the 80s with Gary Davies runs Friday night through Saturday, 8pm to 10pm.
The Good Groove with DJ Spoony, originally a four-part series in January, will air weekly on Friday nights from 9pm to 9pm.
DJ Spoony said: “I am very happy to launch my program on Radio 2 on Friday evening in July.
“Whether you’re throwing a big party or getting ready for a great night out, join me in listening to the best dance and party tunes I can find as we throw the Friday night party!”
And Angela Griffin will host Radio 2 Unwinds on a Sunday night, taking listeners on a musical journey across genres and generations to help them unwind as they greet the week.

He said: “I am delighted to have my show on BBC Radio 2.
“I loved hosting my series last year because I was already a huge fan of the station, so I’m proud to have my first real weekly show.
“I’ll bring two hours of relaxing tunes chosen by me and the listeners to help you unwind before next week.”
The changes will take effect on Friday 15 July.

8pm to 10pm: Sunday Night is Music Night, produced by BBC Audio.
10:00 pm – Midnight: Radio 2 takes place with Angela Griffin, produced by Somethin ‘Else.
