The most controversial film of the year.
Directed by Justin Baldoni, “It Ends with Us” is the biggest hit of 2024 that no one outside the United States has heard of. The melodrama starring Baldoni and Blake Lively collects $334 million at the worldwide box office with a budget of only 25 million.
The film follows a girl named Lily Bloom who finds herself in an abusive relationship with neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid. The raw drama about emotional and physical abuse proved that Lively can still draw audiences to theaters. Albeit in a less than honest way.

Fans criticized “It Ends with Us” for its deceptive marketing campaign. The film’s trailers and posters promised another romantic comedy; viewers saw a complex melodrama about abuse that not everyone could watch.
Even a questionable marketing strategy couldn’t stop the film from becoming a hit, however. Rotten Tomatoes users rated It Will End With Us at 91% “freshness”, and Kinopoisk users found the film acceptable 7.0 points.

The film was released in theaters on August 7, but has only just been released digitally. On September 24, “Alles zal bij ons einde” was released on POVD. The film can already be viewed on Apple TV+, Prime Video and VUDU – although you have to pay to watch it.
The film can be “purchased” for $25, and a 48-hour rental will cost viewers $20. It appears Lively and Baldoni plan to make a few more million dollars from the digital release.
