The director’s choice surprised even loyal fans.
Quentin Tarantino is one of Hollywood’s most popular directors, having released masterpieces such as Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Inglourious Basterds.
The director has been making films for over thirty years and has been saying for years that he will end his career after the release of his tenth film. Considering that Tarantino has already released 9 individual films, it is only a matter of time before he leaves Hollywood.
To sum up his film career, journalists asked the director about his favorite film. Tarantino’s answer shocked even his fans.
“For years, people have been asking me about this kind of thing. And I’ve been like, ‘Oh, all the movies are my children.’ But now I really think Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is my best movie.” – said Tarantino.
Yes, Tarantino called his latest film the crowning achievement of his directing career. Many fans of his work were surprised by this choice. The film with Leonard DiCaprio and Brad Pitt pleased the audience, of course, but the ratings are not comparable to the director’s generally acknowledged masterpieces.
At Kinopoisk the film Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood was only received 7.7 points, while Django unleashed (8.2), “The Hateful Eight” (8.0), “Inglourious Basterds” (8.0), “Reservoir dogs” (8.1) and “Pulp Fiction” (8.7) received much more impressive reviews from the public.
Tarantino’s opinion seems to conflict with that of his own fans.
