David Corenswet says that Superman is “a comic on the big screen” and an “excellent way to start a new era”

Superman star David Corenswet recently open on what sets James Gunn’s Film aside from the other comic movies. According to the actor, this is not your standard “comic film”. It is the comic.

“My impression, which is only my impression, but rather than being an adaptation to comics in the cinema, which was the Renaissance of comics films that started with great films such as Iron Man and Batman Begins, where he seemed to be taking these comic characters on the real world, James’ Superman’s film is more a comic on the big screen.

“I felt it described that the experience of looking at it is a bit like the experience of reading a comic, but obviously moving on a giant screen, shared with the people around you. I think it should be a new experience for people and it is a great way to start a new era of comics films.”

Having seen the movie, I agree 100% and that’s exactly why I loved the movie! It is very different from any of the other superhero films made these days.

Gunn has only this distinct cinema hat that embraces oddities, color and emotional sincerity without losing the fun of the vehicle.

Corenswet also spoke of the responsibility of assuming a character with so much attached inheritance. Instead of imitating previous portraits, it went directly to the material of origin: All-Star Supermanthe modern classic of Grant Morrison AND Frank Quelty According to reports, that Gunn used as a creative north star.

“There is something interesting, in the same way that you play a great character in the theater that was played by great actors in front of you, you really don’t have the opportunity to go back and see their performances and be inspired by their performances.

“But when you read the comedy and get inspiration from the same words from which they had the inspiration, there is a small spiritual connection over time.”

He continued:

“For me, he was focusing on drawing inspiration from All-Star Superman, the comic book that James indicated us. And looking at him-not that all the supermarians before me read that comic-but I saw some things that I recognized in the representation of other actors of the character.

“But in drawing him from comics rather than from other performances, I felt sure that he would become my interpretation and I would find things that would be superimposed, but in the end distinct from previous actors.”

Between the reverence for comics and the promise of a film experience that seems to read a comic on a huge screen, Superman It is something truly new in a desperate genre for reinvention.
