But it’s not that simple.
Marvel Studios has endured a string of embarrassing box office failures in recent years. But this past summer, Kevin Feige’s bad luck finally came to an end.
The blockbuster “Deadpool and Wolverine” was expected to be this year’s biggest hit, proving that even 18+-rated films can be a great addition to the MCU franchise that many find boring.
Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman collected at the global box office $1.3 billion the second after the sequel Inside Out.
American film critics gave the blockbuster a good review 78% “freshness,” and Rotten Tomatoes users rated the quality of the threequel as excellent 94%.
Disney bosses are delighted with the performance of the superhero blockbuster and so it is still playing in cinemas – almost two months after its release.
But Reynolds fans who enjoy watching movies from the comfort of their own home can breathe a sigh of relief: Disney has announced digital release dates for Deadpool and Wolverine.
According to the official statement from 20th Century Studios, the blockbuster will be released on VOD on October 10th – fans only have to wait three weeks!
But there’s still one problem. Apparently, “Deadpool and Wolverine” won’t be released on the Disney+ streaming service, but on digital movie purchasing platforms – Apple TV+ and Prime Video.
It appears that Disney producers want to make even more money off Reynolds and Jackman by charging fans $20 to watch the film from the comfort of their own couch.
And only after the VOD release is over, the film will be released on Disney+.
