We live in an age of streaming and TV shows that manage to lure audiences away from even big-budget Hollywood blockbusters meant for the big screen. It’s no surprise then that many big stars are also turning their attention to TV shows, with the biggest premieres now taking place on streaming platforms rather than in theaters.
Today we have collected 10 excellent crime series starring Hollywood stars, who 10 years ago would hardly have appeared in a small Netflix project.
Of course, in some cases, the film format still takes its toll, even if it happens in the context of the expansion of the universe. This is what happened with ‘Peaky Blinders’: the series, which ended in 2022, did not stay in the shadows for long. It was recently announced that Peaky Blinders will soon return as a feature film, although rumors that the film has been in development since 2021.
In addition, Cillian Murphy himself should also return in the role of Tommy Shelby, although it is not yet clear how central his character will be in the film. But we do know for sure that new characters will be introduced: in addition to Murphy, Rebecca Ferguson (“Dune”, “Asylum”, “Mission: Impossible”) and Barry Keoghan (“The Eternals”, “Saltburn”) are also participating in the film. Filming is not expected to begin until September of this year.
The film will be released on Netflix (jealousy, theaters), but there’s no exact premiere date or plot details yet.
