The fall of 2024 can rightly be called the Stephen King season. In the coming months, the film “The Life of Chuck” with Tom Hiddleston, an adaptation of the writer’s story of the same name, will be released in theaters. The film is already being called one of the best of this year and Hiddleston is tipped for an Oscar for Best Actor.
But The Life of Chuck won’t be the only King film adaptation to be released this fall.

Streaming service Max has released the first trailer for the horror film Salem’s Lot, based on King’s second novel. The horror film revolves around writer Ben Mairs, who returns to his hometown in search of inspiration. Only, he doesn’t find a lost muse, but a gang of bloodthirsty vampires.
The project starred Lewis Pullman, Mackenzie Lee, Bill Camp and Alfre Woodard, and was directed by “Annabelle” director Gary Dauberman.
Viewers were very impressed with the trailer, which promised a dark and very bloody story. But fans are concerned about Warner Bros.’ approach to the film’s release.

Salem’s Lot was set to hit theaters last fall, but the studio canceled the film’s release. It wasn’t until King criticized the studio for its unwillingness to release the film in February of this year that Salem’s Lot was given a release date of October 3, 2024.
Granted, the film will not be released in theaters, but directly on Max – it seems that the studio’s producers do not believe in the financial success of the film and plan to release it on streaming.
Fortunately, King himself really liked the film.
