Ancient Greek mythology and black humor.
2024 has proven to be a very bad year for comedy fans. Sure, there have been some decent shows streaming in recent months, but this year has been lacking in truly outstanding shows. Or so fans thought until August 29th.
At the very end of the summer, Netflix bosses decided to please fans of funny series – the comedy “Kaos” by screenwriter “The End of the F***ing World”, Charlie Covell, was released on streaming.
The plot of the story is as follows: a group of ordinary people unexpectedly discover their kinship with the ancient Greek gods Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. Now, ordinary mortals will have to fight an unequal battle with the mad Zeus.
The leading roles in this ironic and somewhat obscene series were played by major Hollywood stars: Zeus was played by Jeff Goldblum, Aida by David Thewlis and the role of Cassandra was brilliantly played by Billie Piper.
The hilarious, action-packed show instantly became one of Netflix’s most popular projects in September, with subscribers watching nearly 23 million hours of it in its first week of premiere.
American film critics gave “Kaos” a fairly good rating 77% ‘fresh’ on Rotten Tomatoes, and some popular film experts even called Covell’s new project a comedy masterpiece.
“This is an absolute triumph. You don’t know what the next plot twist will be, but you can be sure it will be funny, profound and moving. – famous film critic The Guardian Lucy Mangan.
Fans of “Kaos” have already begun flooding Netflix with requests to renew it for a second season, but the streaming platform’s executives are still silent – a decision on the series’ future will not be made for a few months.
