Love Island star Tayla Damir, winner of the Australian version in 2018, has spoken out against the public response to Johnny Depp’s victory over Amber Heard in the libel suit.

Tayla opened up about being a survivor of domestic violence, saying “it’s never right” and the situation was “unleashing” them.

He talked about his experiences with violence, saying that “it was never right to make fun of domestic abuse.”

The jury found Amber Heard’s statements about Johnny “false” and behaved with “real mischief”.

It comes after he wrote an article for the Washington Post in 2018 in which he accused physical and sexual domestic abuse.

Although he never mentioned Johnny by name in the article, he was believed to be referring to her ex-husband, as the article appeared shortly after the news of the divorce.

Amber has been the subject of jokes and memes ever since the lawsuit went public. Tayla recently said she found the response from the public annoying.

She took to Instagram to talk about the situation, saying, “As someone who suffered domestic abuse in a relationship at a young age and survived, the case of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard is extremely emotional.

“The case was considered a tragedy for the world. An opportunity for TikTok memes and videos.

“The worst thing about this court case is that neither of us is fighting for a change in domestic violence, instead they are fighting over their reputations. It’s an ego-based business. “

He said he thought the case could create a backlash for people experiencing domestic violence and that victims may feel unable to speak.

He went on to say, “For people in a relationship, one of their biggest fears is that no one will believe them and when you see how the world has reacted to this relationship (use it to create a mockery). Do you blame them?

“It doesn’t matter who is to blame here. There is never a time or place where it is right to mock or make fun of domestic violence allegations. Think how many people would be too scared to come forward because of the reaction of the world in recent weeks.

“Imagine if there was someone close to you trapped in a domestic relationship and they saw you sharing a meme of that relationship. Do you really think they would trust you now?

Tayla concluded: “It’s not about who won or lost this cause, it’s about respecting survivors of domestic violence who haven’t survived and who are trying to survive.”
