The audience is angry.
“My Lady Jane” won the audience’s favor from the very first episodes.
Critics rated the series 94% “fresh” on Rotten Tomatoes, the reviews were full of flattering insults, and hopes for a big hit were growing stronger by the day.

And all this thanks to a gripping story, compelling characters and great dynamics.
However, fans were not destined to see the second season as Amazon Prime cancelled the show due to insufficient viewership.
And the worst part is not this, but how the ending appeared against the background of this news.
“Now it’s even worse. I was hoping for a sequel, but the streaming service ruined everything by not promoting the project. The way the first season ended will haunt me for a long time,” complained one reviewer.
The creators probably intended to make the ending a spectacular cliffhanger in order to increase the fan base, but it turned out the other way around.
The original book, which served as a basis, was only half adapted, meaning that many storylines will never reach a logical conclusion.

Yes, Jane and Guilford escaped execution and declared their love for each other, but questions like:
- Who will ultimately ascend the English throne?
- Will the Believers and the Ethicians find a way to reconciliation?
- What awaits the main couple’s family?
- What fate awaits Catherine Gray and William Seymour?
- And what about Jane’s ambitious mother?
It’s a shame that all these moments remain unresolved.
Although there is still a backup plan: anyone interested can read the book of the same name by Cynthia Hand, Jodie Meadows and Brodie Ashton.
