According to viewers, despite the completed storylines and touching ending, the writers retained the opportunity to tell some more interesting stories.
The main character flew to the US to be with his son, leaving the soccer team in the care of other coaches.
It seems like a well-deserved happy ending. However, the popularity of the project is still high enough to be tempted by the thought of returning to television screens.
This may have already happened, but showrunner Bill Lawrence made it clear in an interview with Collider that it all depends on one person’s decision. And that person is Jason Sudeikis.
However, for the actor the choice would not be an easy one.
“He is not only the protagonist, but also a co-creator and exactly the man who has to change his whole life and move to another country with his small children [съемки проходили в Великобритании]. This is a big deal. As a fan I would kill for the chance to get back on the field, but as a partner I support whatever he wants to do.”
The rest of the film crew shares the same opinion.
Still, there is hope, because besides Lasso, other charming heroes shine in the work: Roy Kent, Rebecca Welton, Killie Jones and Coach Willis. And each of them deserves more screen time.
Sudeikis could put pen to paper again and that would be enough to make fans happy.
