Amelia Spencer’s mother Ali was sadly murdered in Emmerdale after a long absence from the ITV soap opera, but fans now think there could be a big breakthrough for the teen.
Emmerdale fans have certainly discovered Amelia Spencer’s “real mother” in the hospital’s hidden scenes this week.
Amelia’s mother Ali was on the ITV soap opera from 2011 to 2015 and was killed in an off-screen car crash in April 2018, with her son Sean breaking the tragic news to his family.
But fans now believe there could be an unexpected turnaround for the teen, who battled body image issues and resorted to ingesting a syrup meant to enhance her curves.
With Amelia set to collapse next week, could there be more drama to discover that Ali was never his birth mother after all, with the introduction of a new character?
On Monday (May 30), Faith Dingle went on her first chemo appointment since she revealed that her breast cancer had returned, and when she settled into the chair, a woman named Lesley walked in with her son.
And fans have noticed a strange resemblance between Lesley and Amelia, suggesting the couple may be related.
Even more suspicious, Lesley had a voice role, which is unusual for extras, as Faith discovered that Cain and Chas were simply stuck somewhere and knew all about her battle for health.
On Facebook, an eagle-eyed fan wrote, “Does anyone else think the chemotherapy patient in tonight’s episode looks like Amelia? She wondered if it might be her mother. Her name didn’t appear in the credits.
Another posted: “It’s probably just an extra, even if it had an unusual part for extras!”
“Yes, I’ve thought about it too!” someone else immediately agreed, while another repeated: “I hope not, there is already enough pessimism!”
Others speculated that she could be actress Daisy Campbell’s mother in real life, posting, “Her real mother – very similar characteristics!”
When someone else continued: “I was wondering why it looked so familiar, and after seeing your comment I think you might be right.”
While the actress isn’t credited for her role in Emmerdale, it would make sense, as fame seems to reign in Daisy’s family.
The Leeds-born star has a younger brother, Finley, who has starred in commercials for Sainsbury’s, while her sister Rhona is a national dance champion, according to IMDb.
Meanwhile, Daisy wowed audiences with her recent portrayal of Amelia, who became obsessed with social media and her looks after being turned down by Noah Dingle.
Emmerdale airs Monday through Friday from 7:30 pm on ITV.
