“The Magnificent Century” wasn’t even in the top 30 most popular Turkish TV series (this is the first time you hear about #1)

It is foolish to deny that the “Magnificent Century” is much more loved in Russia and Turkey than in Europe and the USA. In the West, as here, this project is still discussed to this day, but not so actively – it is not surprising that at first glance you will not find it in the honorary ranking of the most popular Turkish TV series.

In such lists of IMDb, viewers rarely scroll beyond the top 10, and therefore “The Magnificent Century”, which is in 31st place, risks going unnoticed. Paradoxically, the favorites of their Western ‘colleagues’ will seem the same to the Russian viewer.

Okay, “Miracle Doctor” in fifth place is not so surprising. The remake of the Korean series (we know the American version with the unsurpassed performance of Freddie Highmore well) about a doctor with Savant syndrome (basically autism) was also popular with the Russians. But then the surprises begin.

“Gibi” – a series about two eternally warring friends – took fourth place, but in Russia it is so little known that even on KinoPoisk the page is empty – there is no rating. But on IMDb it has 9.0 with a large number of ratings.

“They Are” is another black sheep, and again a story about the adventures of two friends. We did not understand the reasons for the popularity of the project even after reviews on Turkish sites. More people in Russia have heard about “Another Life”, which took second place, but even here the plot does not shine with originality – the friends flew away on a retreat and discovered that there were problems in their families. Wow.

Finally, the leader of the rating is “Turkish Detective”, which has no ratings (or even a poster!) on “KP”. Already from the modest title it becomes clear that we are in for a typical police procedure.
