Channel Seven weather presenter Jane Bunn has sparked concern among fans after showcasing a slimmed-down figure at the St Kilda Best and Fairest Awards.

The 47-year-old meteorologist attended the Australian Football League event in Melbourne on Monday night, dressed in a purple blouse from Australian fashion label Sass & Bide paired with a black ruffled skirt. She smiled while posing for photographs from several angles during the function.

Fans quickly expressed worry after Bunn shared images from the evening across her social media accounts. Multiple followers commented on her appearance, with one urging the television presenter to avoid further weight loss and citing a friend whose extreme weight reduction proved unsustainable.

Other commentators questioned the change, with one asking what had happened and another lamenting the loss of her former figure alongside a crying emoji. A separate fan asked if her transformation involved "the big O," referencing Ozempic, a diabetes medication that has gained widespread attention for off-label weight loss use.

Addressing weight loss and studio shifts

Bunn has publicly addressed questions regarding her appearance, stating that her slimmed-down look is the result of placing a stronger emphasis on personal health. Speaking to Melbourne newspaper the Herald Sun, she explained that adjusting her daily habits over recent months had brought renewed energy into her routine.

"For the past few months I've really been prioritising my health," Bunn told the Herald Sun. "That shift has brought so much energy and joy into my life. I'm feeling terrific, happy and healthy. I'm always surprised people are so interested. I feel strong, balanced and genuinely happy."

She stated that her motivation to alter her diet came after the Seven News Melbourne team moved to a new studio facility. The layout change meant her weather presentations shifted to full-length camera shots, prompting her to rethink her eating habits.

"I know that sounds really weird, but... you don't need to eat every single thing that is in front of you," Bunn said, noting that she now stops eating once satisfied. "There is actually this sign in your head that tells you 'you have eaten enough' and I struggled with that for a long time - about actually listening to that - and now I do."

Fitness routine and career background

The presenter has previously spoken about her rigorous approach to exercise. In a March 2022 interview with the Herald Sun, Bunn outlined the high-intensity workout schedule she completes before stepping in front of the broadcast cameras.

She described working closely with a personal trainer who conducts one-on-one sessions remotely over the phone. Her routine incorporates barre, Pilates, and high-intensity interval training (HIIT), a workout method alternating brief bursts of intense exertion with short recovery periods.

"I am addicted to my trainer," Bunn told the publication when discussing her morning fitness habits.

On weekends, Bunn explained that she typically wakes up at 9am on Saturdays and experiences guilt if she sleeps in any longer. She described her preferred Saturday as starting with an early walk before enjoying lunch and spending the evening out with friends.

Bunn has developed a widespread public following during her tenure with the Seven Network, earning a reputation as one of Australia's most prominent weather presenters. She built her initial fan base after moving from subscription services Sky News and The Weather Channel to regional station WIN News Victoria in 2009, prior to joining Seven News.
