For those who always don’t know what to watch.
Netflix is now sharing what people around the world are watching and how many hours a week they watch it. We’ve rounded up the 10 most popular movies on the platform from the past week. If you’re stuck for something to watch in the evening, here are the best movies.
Who finished in the top seven?
The first seven places went mainly to new films, the oldest of which is a 2014 film starring Keanu Reeves.

This is what the list looks like:
- 10th place: “John Wick” (2014), 5,900,000 viewing hours;
- 9th place: “Ultraman: The Path to the Top” (2024), 7,400,000 hours watched;
- 8th place: “The Flash” (2023), 7,800,000 hours watched;
- 7th place: “The First Person You Meet” (2022), 8,100,000 viewing hours;
- 6th place: “Sharks in Paris” (2024), 8,600,000 viewing hours;
- 5th place: “Maharaj” (2024), 11,500,000 viewing hours;
- 4th place: “Dark Legacy” (2020), 13,000,000 hours watched.

Which films made the top 3?
But the awards show was interesting. There’s an old movie from the 90s and a failed new one starring Jessica Alba. And the not-so-promoted movie starring Zac Efren and Nicole Kidman won gold.

Here are the results:
- 3rd place: “Kissing the Girls” (1997), 13,700,000 viewing hours;
- 2nd place: “Not for the faint of heart” (2024), 46,900,000 viewing hours;
- 1st place: “Family Affair” (2024), 50,900,000 viewing hours.
